What counts as a local move
Anything inside Solano County, from Vallejo down to Benicia and out to American Canyon, is priced as a local job by the hour. A move across town to a new street in Glen Cove and a move out to the newer streets near American Canyon are both handled the same way.
Crew size and truck size are matched to what is actually in the home. A one-bedroom apartment near the ferry terminal might take two movers and a smaller box truck, while a four-bedroom house up in the hills usually gets four movers and a full-size truck.
If you are not sure how big a truck you will need, a short walk-through video of each room lets us size the job properly instead of guessing high and charging for a truck you did not use.
A typical move day
The crew arrives inside the agreed window, walks the house with you, and pads the door frames and any tight stairwells before a single box moves. Furniture that needs to come apart is disassembled, wrapped in blankets, and loaded in an order that keeps the truck balanced.
At the new address, everything goes to the room you name rather than the nearest open floor space. Beds get put back together, and we walk the truck with you at the end so nothing is left riding around empty.
Vallejo streets and hills
The older neighborhoods near the waterfront and Mare Island have narrow streets and limited parking, so we scout truck placement ahead of the day where it matters. Up in Glen Cove and the hillside streets above town, steep driveways and switchback turns change how a truck backs in and where the ramp goes.
Newer subdivisions toward the edge of town tend to have wider streets and easier access, which usually means a faster load, though HOA rules in some of those areas do restrict moving hours.
Small jobs are welcome
Not every local job is a whole house. We regularly move a single piece of furniture across town, shuttle a load of boxes into a storage unit near the Vallejo waterfront, or send two people to help load a container parked in your driveway.

Some of these small jobs come from people downsizing into a smaller apartment, others from someone buying a single large item, like a sectional or a piano, from a private seller across town and needing it carried home safely. Either way, the same padding and dolly work applies whether it is one item or a full house.
What adds time to a local job
Because local moves are billed by the hour, it helps to know what stretches a job out. Long carries from a parking spot to a third-floor unit, heavy pieces that need two people on every trip, and drawers left full of clothes all add real minutes over the course of a day.
None of that means you have to empty every drawer the night before. It just means the estimate reflects those realities honestly rather than assuming an easy carry that is not actually there.
